Keyboard Shortcuts

Navigate faster and work more efficiently with keyboard shortcuts.

Overview

AsyncLife supports keyboard shortcuts throughout the application. Press the ? key at any time to see a quick reference of all available shortcuts. Shortcuts are disabled when typing in text fields.

General Shortcuts

These shortcuts work anywhere in the application (outside of text fields).

/

/ (forward slash)

Opens the global search dialog. Start typing to search tasks, notes, gists, chat messages, and accounting entries.

Ctrl+K

Ctrl+K / Cmd+K

Also opens the global search dialog. Works the same as the / shortcut.

?

? (question mark)

Opens the keyboard shortcuts help dialog showing all available shortcuts.

Dialog Shortcuts

These shortcuts work inside dialogs and modal windows.

Ctrl+Enter

Ctrl+Enter / Cmd+Enter

Confirms or saves the current dialog action. Works in confirmation dialogs, edit dialogs, and form dialogs. Disabled when the confirm button is disabled (e.g., when a required field is empty).

Esc

Escape

Closes the current dialog. This is the standard browser behavior for dialogs.

Platform Differences

On macOS, Ctrl-based shortcuts use the Cmd (⌘) key instead. For example, Ctrl+Enter becomes Cmd+Enter, and Ctrl+K becomes Cmd+K. The keyboard shortcuts help dialog (?) automatically shows the correct key for your platform.
