Search & Commands
Find anything across your workspace instantly with global search, navigate with the command palette, or ask questions with AI mode.
Opening Search
Open the global search overlay from anywhere in the application using keyboard shortcuts or the search icon in the header.

Toggle the search overlay open or closed from any page

Search Modes
The search overlay supports three modes, each activated by a prefix character in the search input.
Search Mode (default)
Type normally to search across all your content — tasks, notes, gists, chat messages, transactions, documents, and more. Results are grouped by type with a preview panel on desktop.
Command Mode
Type > to enter command mode. Browse and execute commands to navigate pages, create new items, or perform actions. Commands are filtered by your permissions and workspace context.
AI Mode
Type ? to enter AI mode. Ask a question or pick from suggested prompts to start a conversation with the AI assistant.
Search Features
Global search provides a rich set of features for finding content quickly.
- Full-text search — Powered by Meilisearch for fast, typo-tolerant results across all content types
- Grouped results — Results are organized by type (Tasks, Notes, Gists, etc.) with facet counts in the sidebar
- Context-aware — Results from the current page type are pinned to the top — searching from Tasks shows task results first
- Preview panel — See type-specific details (status, priority, dates, amounts) for the selected result without leaving search
- Recent searches — Previously used search terms appear when you open the overlay for quick re-use
Command Palette
Type > to access the command palette. Commands are organized into three categories:
Navigate
Jump to any page — Tasks, Notes, Accounting, Settings, and more
Create
Create new items — tasks, notes, gists, documents, chat sessions
Action
Execute workspace actions directly from the palette
